We Were at the Netherlands Festival of Education – and the Conversations Were Everything.

On June 6th, The Amigos Project joined over 1,000 educators, school leaders, and education innovators at the very first Netherlands Festival of Education in The Hague. For a project built on the belief that connection changes everything, being in a room full of people who share that belief felt exactly right.

Throughout the day we spoke with teachers, coordinators, and school directors who were genuinely curious about what it looks like when a 10-year-old in the Netherlands builds a friendship with a peer in Uganda. We heard questions that challenged us, ideas that inspired us, and stories that reminded us exactly why we started Amigos in the first place.

We brought our flyers, our story, and our energy – and left with new contacts, new perspectives, and a growing sense that the moment for intercultural education in Dutch schools is now.
